Pharmacy specialties in Germany
After the scientific basics were taught in the course and the focus was on medicine, in the general pharmacy the person is the focus as a patient and a client. The term "proper supply of medicines to the population" is a very dry description of the requirements that good pharmacists have to meet today.
The field of activity of the hospital pharmacist has changed significantly in recent years. New services are increasingly being added to the classic activities of drug development, manufacture, testing and distribution.
The path from the drug to the final drug is long and requires extensive knowledge and skills regarding pharmaceutical and gallen analysis. With the help of various methods of analysis, the pharmaceutical quality of active ingredients, auxiliary substances, raw materials, pharmaceuticals and medical devices can be distinguished, identified, tested and evaluated.
Field of Pharmaceutical Information
With a pharmacy certificate, everyone acquires the basic requirements for passing information about medicines. However, the contents of the field of pharmacological information go far beyond that. They include the collection, processing, evaluation and dissemination of all pharmaceutical and medical data related to the drug – from development to application.
Toxicology and the environment
Toxicology examines and evaluates the harmful effects of chemicals on certain biological systems. Ecology involves knowing the ecological balance and disrupting it through environmentally harmful substances.
Additional training provides pharmacists with more skills and knowledge to accomplish tasks in the public health system. The field of public health includes pharmaceutical activities in the licensing system as well as in screening and control practices, which serve to identify and evaluate health risks related to drugs and their disposal options.
Specialized activity in clinical chemistry includes chemical, physical, biochemical and microbiological examinations of substances of biological origin. The training provides practical experience in the implementation and evaluation of all analytical methods in the clinical laboratory. This includes in particular immune, enzymatic, electrical, physical and chemical methods.
Study Pharmacy in Germany in English
Studystudying pharmacy in Germany in English is not easy. Since this is a course restricted by nationwide admission, there are also relatively uniform criteria.
Unfortunately, the opportunities to study medicine in English in Germany are very limited. The only offer of this is so far in Hamburg: the Medical Center of the University of Neumarkt am Mieresch is there. The course is held in full English, you only need to be able to speak German in order to train in the hospital. However, you will have to pay tuition fees at this university, as it is a private university.
